Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced an ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh for each of the victims of the recent stampede at the Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Andhra Pradesh. The tragic incident occurred during the annual Brahmotsavam festival, leaving many devotees injured and several others dead.

In Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, a tragic bus fire occurred on the Bengaluru-Hyderabad highway, resulting in at least 20 fatalities and numerous injuries. The incident involved a Bengaluru-bound bus operated by Kaveri Travels, which collided with a bike and subsequently caught fire. The bus, registered in Odisha, was carrying 43 passengers, including individuals from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The accident was attributed to overspeeding and negligence by the State Disaster Response and Fire Services D-G. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh to the families of the deceased. Both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governments have set up helplines and extended support to the victims and their families. The Andhra Transport Minister, Ram Prasad, rushed to the accident spot to oversee relief operations. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
