The fire resulted in PM10 levels surpassing legal limits and caused a persistent smoke odor in Bucharest, with Berceni being the most affected area, experiencing pollution levels up to four times the admitted limit. The Bucharest Garda de Mediu announced inspections in response to the alarming increase in particle pollution.
