Why calamity Is Trending Today?

Multiple areas in the Philippines, including Metro Manila, have been placed under a state of calamity due to heavy flooding and storms, affecting millions of residents. The Department of Health has implemented a price freeze for 148 medicines in these areas. The Social Security System (SSS) has reduced the interest rate for its Calamity Loan Program to 7% from 10%, and the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) has opened an emergency loan window for affected regions. At least 40 areas, including several provinces and cities, are currently under a state of calamity.

Multiple cities and provinces, including Marikina, Cainta, Dagupan, Calumpit, Bulacan, Cavite, Quezon City, Manila, and Cebu City, have declared a state of calamity due to heavy flooding caused by Habagat 2025 and Crising. The Social Security System (SSS) and Pag-IBIG have issued revised calamity loan guidelines to aid affected members, with lower interest rates.
