Kompol Cosmas, a high-ranking police officer, was dismissed from his position in the Indonesian National Police (Polri) following a viral video showing a Brimob (Mobile Brigade Corps) officer, later identified as Affan Kurniawan, being run over by a motorcycle. During his ethics hearing, Cosmas cried and expressed regret, stating that he was only following orders. He was later found guilty of violating police regulations in the case and was given a disciplinary sanction of demotion in rank. Despite his dismissal, Cosmas considered appealing the decision. The incident sparked public outrage and led to the dismissal of Cosmas from his position.
