The Supreme Court of Brazil (STF) is currently discussing the decriminalization of abortion, which could potentially change the existing laws. Minister Luis Roberto Barroso has voted in favor of decriminalizing abortion up to the 12th week of gestation, arguing that it should be treated as a public health issue. Barroso also requested the resumption of the trial, leading Justice Edson Fachin to schedule an extraordinary session for its judgment.
