Vince Dizon, previously serving as the Secretary of the Department of Transportation, has been appointed as the new Secretary of the Department of Public Works and Highways by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. This appointment follows the resignation of Manuel Bonoan from the position. Dizon took his oath on Monday, September 1, 2025, during a live press briefing. Marcos cited Dizon's familiarity with public works as a reason for his appointment.

Representative Leandro Leviste, a congressman from Batangas, has filed charges against a district engineer from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) who attempted to bribe him. The engineer was arrested for allegedly trying to hinder an investigation into flood control projects in the region. Leviste, who is also known as "Cong. Leandro Leviste," filed the case at the Batangas Provincial Prosecutor's Office on August 26, 2025.
