Gus Yaqut, a former Minister of Religious Affairs, was recently questioned by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) for approximately 5 hours regarding allegations of corruption in the allocation of Hajj quotas. Following his interrogation, Yaqut expressed relief at being able to clarify his position. The KPK has since escalated the investigation into the corruption of Hajj quota distribution.

Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, the former Minister of Religious Affairs, is currently under investigation by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) for alleged corruption in the distribution of special Hajj quotas. The investigation follows reports of irregularities and violations in the 2024 Hajj process, which were revealed during a parliamentary examination. Qoumas was summoned by the KPK and is suspected of involvement in the case, with reports suggesting he may have brought a "blue map" document containing crucial information during his interrogation. The KPK is also investigating another former minister, Nadiem Makarim, in connection with this case and a separate matter involving Google Cloud.
