Presidency University marked the 11th National Handloom Day with a series of events, showcasing the rich heritage and significance of handloom in India. The university honored local weavers and artisans, highlighting their skills and contributions to the handloom industry. The celebrations also included exhibitions and workshops, aiming to create awareness and appreciation for handloom among the student community.

Five handloom weavers were honored on National Handloom Day, highlighting the sector's role in socio-economic development. The Department of Handicrafts & Handloom Kishtwar marked the 11th National Handloom Day, with Anakapalli Collector emphasizing handloom textiles as a symbol of tradition and culture. In Dindigul and southern districts, National Handloom Day was observed with enthusiasm. Meanwhile, weavers in Kannur's heritage village faced idleness due to handloom industry struggles. To celebrate, a handloom exhibition was inaugurated in Ooty, and timeless Indian handloom sarees and fabrics were featured, perfect for National Handloom Day 2025.
