Why inalum Is Trending Today?

Inalum, a state-owned mining company, is planning to revamp the power grid map to accommodate its energy needs, with a focus on renewable energy sources. The company is seeking support from the government to establish a new subsidiary to manage its smelter operations. Inalum aims to build a new smelter in Mempawah, requiring 1.2 GW of power from PLN and private providers. Danantara, a state-owned enterprise holding company, has injected IDR 8 trillion into Inalum's smelter project. Inalum has stated that Danantara will be involved in the smelter alumina project. The CEO of Inalum has expressed concern about the need for substantial power supply from PLN for its aluminum smelters in North Sumatra and West Kalimantan. The Mempawah smelter requires a continuous power supply without any interruptions, as per Inalum's management's request.
