Lotte Chemical, a major player in the petrochemical industry, has made significant strides in Indonesia, with the country now poised to become a global petrochemical hub. The company's latest achievement is the inauguration of the largest petrochemical plant in Southeast Asia, located in Cilegon, with an investment of Rp 65 trillion. This plant, which was officially opened by Prabowo Subianto, is expected to significantly reduce Indonesia's dependence on petrochemical imports, potentially saving the country up to Rp23 trillion annually. The plant's inauguration was initially planned to be attended by President Joko Widodo, but he was unable to make it due to other commitments. Despite his absence, Prabowo Subianto praised President Joko Widodo's role in initiating the Lotte Chemical petrochemical project, highlighting his contribution to the country's industrial development.
