The Office of Civil Defense held a press briefing on November 7, 2025, discussing the response to Typhoon Tino and preparations for the approaching Typhoon Uwan. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warned that Uwan, also known as Fung-wong, would be 'very intense and enormous', with a diameter of over 1,000 kilometers, nearly the size of the entire Luzon and Visayas regions. As Uwan neared the Philippines, families were advised to prepare accordingly. Metro Manila and other local government units (LGUs) were urged to brace for the potential super typhoon, with Valenzuela LGU already preparing life vests, rubber boats, and other equipment. President Bongbong Marcos declared a state of national calamity following the damage caused by Typhoon Tino and in anticipation of Typhoon Uwan. PAGASA announced that Uwan would make landfall on Saturday, with its outer rainbands already affecting the country.
