President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has relieved General Nicolas Torre as the chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP). In his place, Lieutenant General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. has been appointed as the new officer-in-charge (OIC) of the PNP. Nartatez took his oath before Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla during the assumption of command ceremony on Tuesday.
