Why praid Is Trending Today?

Minister of Economy blames Salrom's management for Praid disaster, demands their dismissal; Ciolacu defends economic record, offers to resign if necessary.

Minister of Economy, Radu Miruță, announced the dismissal of Salrom's management following the Praid disaster, which was not an accident but a result of negligence and continuous disregard of responsibilities. The disaster has irreversibly affected the salt deposit and the minister has initiated legal proceedings against the company's administration. Despite the disaster, the salary of Salrom's director was increased. The minister also acknowledged multiple culprits, including political entities, politicians, and justice, for their role in the disaster.

CSAT, under Nicușor Dan's presidency, addressed key issues including tax evasion, the conflict in Ukraine, and the crisis at Salina Praid. It identified tax evasion as a major security vulnerability and decided to intensify controls, accelerate digitalization, and modify penal law to combat it. For Salina Praid, two scenarios were evaluated: reconditioning the old mine or building new ones. The council also approved a report on high cybersecurity threats in Romania and decided that peace in Ukraine should exclude any Russian attempts to redraw Europe's spheres of influence.
