Paulien Cornelisse has won the NS Publieksprijs for the first time. The prize is awarded annually by the Dutch Railways (NS) to a public figure who has made a significant positive impact on society. Cornelisse, a Dutch journalist and television presenter, was recognized for her work in raising awareness about social issues and her commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion. She received the most votes from the public, who were asked to choose from a shortlist of five nominees. The award ceremony took place on December 14, 2022, at the Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam.

Paulien Cornelisse won the NS Publieksprijs for her play 'De verwarde cavia', expressing relief after a challenging year and a half. She dedicated the award to her late father. The play, which premiered at the Holland Festival, explores themes of mental health and identity, leaving audiences laughing and reflecting on themselves. Meanwhile, Mino's Imperium took home the best podcast award at the Dutch Podcast Awards, with Fred van Leer and Richard Groenendijk winning the publieksprijs for their podcast 'Van Leer en Groenendijk'.
