The reconstruction of the block that exploded in Rahova is underway. Minister Attila Cseke stated that there is no legal framework available currently for this process. Following the Rahova explosion, the government has amended the law to permit the rebuilding of destroyed buildings. The cause of the Rahova tragedy is suspected to be a short circuit in the basement of the block. Experts suggest that consolidating the building might be more expensive than reconstructing the damaged parts. The Ministry of Development is financing the reconstruction of the affected block on Calea Rahovei. The state will fund the demolition and reconstruction of the block through a national program that also includes residential buildings damaged by accidents or technical failures.
