Two individuals were detained outside the residence of Chief Prosecutor Akın Gürlek. The detainees were reportedly on motorcycles and asked if "Gürlek had arrived". The incident has sparked reactions from political figures, including CHP leader Özgür Özel. Gürlek recently made headlines for his statements regarding an investigation into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) and Aziz İhsan Aktaş, describing it as "the biggest corruption case of the century".
