The Philippines lifted a tsunami warning following a magnitude 7.5 earthquake. The quake, which struck off the southern coast of the country, initially triggered tsunami alerts in several regions, including those in Sulawesi and Maluku. However, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology later announced that the threat had passed and there were no reports of significant damage or casualties.

Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia, experienced a magnitude 6.1 earthquake, followed by numerous powerful aftershocks, including one of magnitude 6.7, on July 31. The region has been under significant seismic pressure, with multiple earthquakes recorded within an hour, and a volcano erupting in response to the activity. The earthquakes, among the strongest ever recorded in the region, have caused buildings to collapse and triggered tsunami warnings.
